Due to continuous rains in Pune district, the amount of water in the Ujni dam has increased. For this reason, 40 thousand cusecs of water was released from Ujni Dam in Bhima river on Tuesday. Also, 22,360 cusecs of water has been released from Veer Dam in Neera river. This water is found in the Bhima River by going to the confluence, due to which the water level of Chandrabhaga river has increased rapidly.
By Tuesday evening, the flow of water in the Chandrabhaga river exceeded 40 thousand cusecs. The administration estimates that this flow can increase to 60 thousand cusecs. Due to this, many temples of Pandharpur have been submerged in water. Devotees Pundalik Temple, Ghats on the banks of the river and the old bridge are completely submerged. Traffic on the bridge has been stopped.

The district administration has alerted the villages situated on the banks of the river. Such situation has increased concern before a big religious event like Ashadhi Wari. Keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, the foster minister Jayakumar Gore had instructed to release water from the Ujni dam on time.

The municipality has deployed lifeguards for security and the help of local sailors is also being taken to help in emergency. Also, local people have advised people to stay away from the river.
