The Indian Air Force carried out a adventure rescue operation on the Ravi river near Madhopur in Punjab and saved the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) personnel stuck on the broken barrage. During this time, the Air Force deployed MI-17 1V helicopter, which carried out this rescue work in dangerous areas.

The Indian Air Force wrote on X that on 30 August 2025, the MI-17 1V helicopter of the Air Force provided assistance to the NDRF personnel trapped on the broken barrage in a adventure mission on the Ravi river near Madhopur.

The biggest challenge of the operation was that the helicopter could not fully land on the difficult terrain. In such a situation, the pilots continuously hovering the helicopter on the slope with the help of one wheel and worked to take off the workers.

The Air Force further stated that during one-wheel hovering on dangerous slopes, the crew secured NDRF personnel and Garuda commandos, showing amazing skills and courage.
