PRTC and PUNBUS will be on strike for three days in Punjab.
Government bus service in the state is going to be disrupted for 3 days. PRTC and PUNBUS buses will not run on January 6, 7 and 8. PRTC and Panbus Employees Union have announced to protest in front of the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh regarding their demands.

Due to this, people traveling in government buses on January 6, 7 and 8 may have to face a lot of trouble. PUNBUS and PRTC contract employees union, who are struggling for their demands, had prominently raised the demand for regularization of contract employees by submitting a memorandum to the ministers across Punjab last month.
In this regard, last month the employees of Jalandhar Depot 1 and 2 had met Cabinet Minister Mahendra Bhagat and various MLAs of Doaba at his residence.

The delegation that reached the cabinet minister’s residence was led by Pradhan Bikramjit Singh, Satpal Singh Satta, Jasbir Singh, senior leader Chanan Singh Channa and others. Union officials submitted a memorandum to Mahendra Bhagat and informed him about the demands of the union.
After submitting the memorandum to the minister and MLAs, the union also addressed the local bus stand. Bikramjit Singh said that due to the delay in regularizing the temporary employees, the union is being forced to raise the alarm of struggle.
