The 15 -km area of ​​the surrounding 15 km has been hit by floods due to the breakdown of the Dhusi dam in Amritsar. The administration is on alert due to water reaching Ajnala town. The distance from Amritsar Airport to Ajnala is only 10 kilometers.
Government and 11 teams of NDRF are active for relief operations. The army is also engaged in relief work in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar. The Battalion 7 team of NDRF saved a young man from flood waters in Amritsar. In another district, an elderly woman was saved and treated.

- On Sunday, the Dhusi dam was broken in Gaonwala of Gurdaspur due to the rise in the water level of the Ravi river. Due to this, the water reached the city of Ajnala, about 15 km away. Due to this flood, 80 villages in Amritsar district were submerged in water.
- A 60 -year -old woman died after falling a roof of a raw house in Chandigarh locality due to rain in Abohar, Fazilka. At the same time, two other women are injured in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Sharda Devi wife Ram Kishan.
- The wall of the brick kiln warehouse fell due to rain in Jawahar village of Mansa. Jagjivan Singh, a 58 -year -old farmer riding a bicycle under it, died.
- The roof of the house collapsed in Sangatpura village in Sangrur, in which Karmjit Kaur (60 years) died. His daughter Mandeep Kaur and son -in -law Sukhpal Singh were injured.
