The woman who was shot and killed in Batala firing was allegedly Harjeet Kaur, the mother of the infamous gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria of Punjab. This attack has once again brought the name into the headlines, which once came out of the soil of Punjab to play kabaddi, but today is known as an international criminal.
Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria has now become a staunch opponent of Lawrence Bishnoi. He is a resident of Bhagwanpur village in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. There was a time when he was considered a great kabaddi player, but over time he entered the world of crime.
He is in jail since 2015. There are more than 128 criminal cases against him like murder, robbery, forced recovery, illegal weapons supply and intoxication smuggling. In Punjab, he is notorious as ‘Recovery King’. He is also accused of murders in Canada.

Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s name is also associated with international drugs and arms smuggling networks running in Punjab. It is believed that his network extends to Pakistan and Canada and he used to smuggle drugs with border.
In the year 2025, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) took action under the NDPS Act and got him shifted from Punjab’s Bathinda Jail to Assam jail. Actually, he was in danger of life from Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Punjab jail.
Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar were once considered close friends of Jaggu, but now the routes of these three have been separated. Lawrence and Goldie had alleged that after the Sidhu Mosewala murder case, Jaggu had informed the Punjab Police about the two shooters, after which the Punjab Police killed both in the encounter. After this allegation, these Lawrences and Goldie distanced away from Jaggu.
Jaggu himself is also an accused in the Sidhu Mosewala murder case. His role in that case is under investigation. Jaggu has spread his trade in Canada and Australia with the money earned from crime. Jaggu’s biggest work in Kabbaddi also goes on.
