In the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov made an important announcement, strengthening India-Russia relations. He said that in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to New Delhi is being planned. Lavarov appreciated India’s independent policies amid American sanctions and described bilateral agenda as comprehensive, including coordination on forums such as trade, military cooperation, AI (artificial intelligence) and bricks.
The Russian External Affairs Minister confirmed that President Putin’s visit to India is being planned in December. This journey may be the sequel to the annual summit between the two countries. This high -level tour will give a new direction to the relationship between the two countries and will further strengthen the strategic partnership. This journey will be Putin’s first visit to India after the Ukraine crisis, which will give new pace to the strategic partnership of both countries.
India capable of taking its decisions
Lavrov, his Indian counterpart S.K. Jayashankar was also praised, whom he spoke to on Saturday. He said, ‘This year my colleague Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will visit Russia and I will visit India. India is a country with self -respect
Lavarov described India as a country with self -respect like Türkiye, which is free in its foreign policy. Lavarov cited Jaishankar’s statement in which he said that if America wants to sell our oil, we are ready to discuss it, but we are our own case and we have nothing to do with other countries, not from the United States, but from Russia or other countries, and it has nothing to do with the Indo-America agenda.
Lavarov also told that this year his counterpart Jaishankar will visit Russia and he himself will visit India. He said that regular exchange between the two countries continues.
UN reforms supported
In the UNGA address, Lavarov advocated the reforms of the Security Council and described India and Brazil as a strong contender for permanent membership. He said that there is a need to strengthen the representation of the global South. This statement underlines India’s growing global role, where it is strengthening relations with traditional partners like Russia, adopting an independent foreign policy.
