Rahul Gandhi Alleges Match Fixing In Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 BJP Responds Mahayuti Alliance Parties Shiv Sena NCP

Rahul Gandhi Targets BJP: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has made a big allegation about the Maharashtra assembly elections held in November last year. He has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won through “match-fixing”. Rahul Gandhi has made this allegation in his article written in a newspaper. He also said that the BJP conspired to weaken democracy.

According to Rahul Gandhi, Mahayuti, a coalition of BJP, led by Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar won 235 out of a total of 288 seats. Among them, BJP won 132 seats alone, which is its best performance in Maharashtra so far.

In his article written in the Indian Express, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was engaged in weakening the state’s democratic process under a five-step plan. Congress leader further wrote in his post on X-

First – Election Commission selected team disturbed
Second – Fake names were added to the voter list
third – Voting figure was deliberately extended
Fourth – Where BJP wanted victory, fake votes were cast there
Fifth – The evidence was hidden.

The BJP won a major victory in the 2024 elections, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), including Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP), got just 50 seats. This result was a big shock for Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar, because they had lost their parties and their election symbols before the election.

Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the central government

Rahul Gandhi said that it is not a minor fraud, but is manipulated in elections on a large scale. He said that in 2023, the Central Government made a change in the selection of the members of the Election Commission, which now included a Union Minister in place of the Chief Justice. Rahul Gandhi believes that it made it difficult for the Election Commission to be fair. He wrote, “It is not right to keep the minister in the selection committee instead of the Chief Justice. Why will someone remove the fair officer? The answer is in the question itself.”

BJP denied Rahul Gandhi’s allegations

The BJP has retaliated on these allegations of Rahul Gandhi and described this statement as shameful. BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha said, “Rahul Gandhi is again doing evil to the institutions of the country. The Election Commission has cleared these things many times.”
