Rahul Gandhi Questions Modi Government Electoral Process Election Commission Selection Congress | Indian Politics: Rahul Gandhi upset over the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner, said

CEC Selection: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Central Government of intervening in the selection process of the Election Commissioner through a post on his social media platform ‘X’. He said that during the meeting of the committee related to the appointment of Election Commissioner and Chief Election Commissioner, he had handed over an disagreement to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. In this note, Rahul Gandhi clearly said that the freedom of the Election Commission should be free from the intervention of the government, especially the appointment of Election Commissioner and Chief Election Commissioner.

Rahul Gandhi also claimed that the Modi government violated the order of the Supreme Court and removed the Chief Justice of India from this selection committee. Due to this, concern has increased in the minds of voters regarding the transparency of the election process. He also said that it is a violation of the government to escape responsibly and the honor of democratic institutions.

It is necessary to follow Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals – Rahul Gandhi

The Congress leader also clarified that it is his duty as Leader of Opposition (LOP) to hold the government accountable by following the ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar and the founding leaders of our country. He alleged that the entire process has been challenged in the Supreme Court and it is to be heard in only 48 hours. In such a situation, it is unfair to take a decision of Prime Minister and Home Minister on the selection of Election Commissioner at midnight.

Rahul also said in his tweet that this is an abusive and disrespectful step taken by the government as it has been decided in a hurry despite questioning the selection process of the Election Commissioner. They believe that such steps can weaken the strength of Indian democracy.
