Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision to remove all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR. He said that this is a step behind the decades of human and scientific policy. These unruly animals are not ‘problems’, which should be eliminated.
Rahul wrote on X that- shelters, sterilization, vaccination and community care should be adopted. With this, dogs can be protected without cruelty. The entire ban is cruel-sternness and eliminates our kindness. We can ensure how both public safety and animal welfare should run together.
In fact, on August 11, the Supreme Court has directed the municipal bodies of Delhi-NCR to immediately catch stray dogs and keep them permanently in the shelter home. The court said,

The court raised the matter on July 28, taking notice on July 28, when a report presented in Parliament raised concerns over the increasing cases of rabies in Delhi-NCR and the death of children and the elderly. There will be no laxity in this work and if a person or organization comes in the middle of it, strict action will be taken against him.
Mixed reactions are coming on the order given on the Supreme Court’s Street Dogs. Some people are calling it relief, while some are calling it wrong.

Maneka Gandhi said, ‘There are three lakh stray dogs in Delhi. All of them will be caught and sent to shelter home. To remove them from the roads, the Delhi government will have to build 1 thousand or 2 thousand shelter homes. Because not more dogs cannot be kept together.
First of all, he will have to find land for him. It will cost close to 4-5 crore rupees. Because in every center, caretaker, cooking and feeding, and the watchman will have to be arranged.
