According to the agency, the Center of the Indian Meteorological Department in Dehradun issued an orange alert of heavy rains at some places on 20 and 21 July in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udhamsingh Nagar in Uttarakhand. On July 22, a heavy to heavy rains were issued at some places in Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts of the state.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Savin Bansal of Dehradun has issued an order to close all schools and Anganwadi centers from class 1 to 12 on Monday in view of ‘Orange’ alert.

Along with this, after continuous monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh, public life in the state has been badly affected. According to the report of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) on July 20, there are 142 roads blocks, 40 water supply schemes are interrupted and 26 power distribution transformers (DTRs) are not working.
The situation remains serious in Mandi (91 roads) and Kullu (33 roads) districts, where the landslides and sudden floods are closed due to the floods. Electricity supply in areas like Gohar and Bhavnagar has also been badly affected, where a total of 26 DTRs have been disrupted due to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, 40 water supply schemes especially in Mandi, Kullu and Sirmaur have been affected by floods and sediment deposits. According to the data so far, a total of 166 deaths have been recorded due to all the accidents in the state. Of these, 132 people were killed due to rain and 34 people were killed in road accidents.
