Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case Shillong Court Sent 13 Day Judicial Custody Sonam and Raj Kushwaha

Raja raghuvanshi murder case: A court of Shillong has sent accused Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha to 13 days judicial custody in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case on Saturday (June 21, 2025). In the murder case, both of them were produced in the District Sessions Court at East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya today.

According to Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chand, the police did not demand custody of Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha, but the investigating officer demanded judicial custody, which was approved by the court.

Charities arrested from UP and Madhya Pradesh
Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam (May 23, 2025) went missing while celebrating a honeymoon in the Sohra area of ​​Meghalaya. The mutilated body of the king was found in a valley on 2 June, while Sonam could not be detected. After this, the police arrested Raj Kushwaha and three killers- Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22) and Raj Singh Kushwaha (21) from UP and Madhya Pradesh. After this, Sonam surrendered to the police in the murder of her husband.

Sonam accused of misleading police
On June 11, the five accused were arrested by the court of Judicial Magistrate Don Kitbor Koshi Misil, who was then brought to Meghalaya on transit remand. A court of Shillong on Thursday extended police custody of Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha by 2 more days.

According to the PTI report, in the meantime the king’s elder brother has alleged that Sonam is misleading the police and he should be brought to Indore with four other accused so that a thorough investigation can be done and the whole truth can be revealed.
