Amit shah in rajya sabha on manipur: The Parliament passed the statutory resolution confirming President’s rule in Manipur in the early hours of Friday. President’s rule was implemented on 13 February in violent Manipur. According to a decision of the Supreme Court, within two months, a statutory resolution was presented by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss and pass in the Rajya Sabha.
The Upper House passed this resolution with a sound at around 4 am on Friday. The Lok Sabha has already passed it. He said in the House that the Chief Minister of Manipur had resigned after which the governor discussed with the MLAs and the majority members said that they are not in a position to form the government. Shah said that after this the cabinet recommended President’s rule, which was accepted by the President.
I accept that 260 people died- Amit Shah
Amit Shah said, “According to the decision of the Supreme Court, I have brought a statutory resolution for the approval of the House in this regard within two months.” Shah said that the first concern of the government is to establish peace in Manipur and there has been not a single death for the last four months and only two people have been injured. He said that he admits that 260 people in Manipur were killed in ethnic violence but he wants to tell the House that more people were killed in electoral violence in West Bengal.
Amit Shah said the reason for the atmosphere deteriorating
The Home Minister described a court decision behind the deteriorating situation in Manipur, in which reservation was given to a caste. He said that the next day this court decision was stayed by the Supreme Court. He said that the government wants peace, rehabilitation and ointment on people’s wounds in Manipur. The Home Minister appealed to the opposition parties not to do politics on the issue of Manipur.
Kharge said- PM Modi could not get time to go to Manipur
Earlier, while participating in the discussion on the bill, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that despite so much violence in Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not yet got a chance to go to that state. He said that when there was tremendous pressure on the ruling party, the Chief Minister was forced to resign there. He said that BJP’s ‘double engine government’ in Manipur has proved to be a bad failure. Trinamool Congress leader Derek Obreon said that the situation in Manipur in Manipur has been bad for 22 months and the Prime Minister did not go there even once. He alleged that the ruling party is adopting a Gurur’s attitude towards Manipur.
