Ram Navami procession approved in Bengal! High Court said- not allowed to carry arms

The Calcutta High Court has allowed the Ram Navami procession to be taken out in Howrah, but with some conditions. While hearing a petition filed by Anjani son Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the court has banned the use of weapons and use of DJs in the procession. Apart from this, the bike rally has also not been allowed. A maximum of 500 people can be involved in the procession, and all the participants will have to give proof of their identity to the police.

Anjani son Sena filed a petition

There has been a tradition of taking out a procession on the occasion of Ram Navami in Howrah, but there have been disputes about it in recent years. Last year, the High Court orders were violated during the procession, in which the number of participants was more than 200 and the DJ was used. Therefore, this year the police refused to allow a procession on the traditional route due to security concerns. In response, Anjani Putra Sena filed a petition in the High Court, resulting in permission with the conditions.

Court gave this order

According to the court order, the procession will be on the same route of GT Road, and the police will keep a close watch on the whole situation. It will be mandatory for all organizers and participants to follow these conditions, so that the procession can be peaceful and safe.

West Bengal Governor’s appeal

Earlier, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose directed the Trinamool Congress government to take precautionary measures to ensure the festival of Ram Navami in a peaceful manner in the state. The statement issued by Raj Bhavan said, “To ensure that the festival does not get any obstruction in any way, the Governor has given strict advice to the state government to take all precautionary steps to celebrate Ram Navami peacefully in the entire state.”
