On Tuesday (February 18, 2025), YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia has been relieved by the Supreme Court, arrest and registering a new FIR in the case. However, during the hearing, the court looked very strict on the comments of Ranveer Allahabadia. Not only this, when Ranveer’s lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud tried to present his side, the court asked him in a strict tone whether he was defending such language. When the lawyer mentioned the threats, the court said that those who threatened will also be fond of getting into the discussion like Ranveer.
According to the report of Live Law, Justice Suryakant and Justice N. Kotishwar were hearing the bench case. The court reprimanded Ranveer Allahabadia and said that the things that have been said during the India’s Got latent show are very shameful. The parents sisters will feel embarrassed by them. He also told Ranveer Allahabadia that he should be ashamed of how he has brought his parents to stand. The lawyer of Ranveer Allahabadia said that a few seconds of clips were cut off from the entire show, which has again arisen.
The judges did not agree to this argument of Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud and said that he should not defend his client’s statements. Justice Suryakant also questioned the lawyer whether he was defending such language. The lawyer told the judge that he believes that the language that Ranveer Allahabad has used in the show is indecent, but his question is whether it is a criminal crime. He questioned this, citing the approval Arora case. The judgment of the Approva Arora case states that the vulgar language will not be vulgar in itself.
Justice Suryakant does not agree on these arguments of the lawyer and he said, ‘If it is not porn, then what is pornography? Does the Judgment of the Approva Arora case give a license to say anything? ‘ The lawyer also said that Ranveer is getting threatening that the person who cut the tongue will be rewarded. The judge said that Ranveer Allahabadia is fond of coming into the discussion, who is announcing the threat, perhaps he will also be such a hobby.
In an episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’ YouTube show, FIRs have been lodged in several states regarding Ranveer Allahabadia’s comment. On 16 February, Ranveer filed a petition in the Supreme Court and appealed to merge all the FIRs, his petition was heard on Tuesday.
