East Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been accused of ball tampering. These allegations have been made by the team of Madurai Panthers, which is participating in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Not only this, the franchise has also complained to the league’s CEO Prasanna Kanan about the matter.
Madurai Panthers said in the complaint- ‘Ashwin and his team tampered with the ball in the match played on 14 June on the SCF Cricket Ground. Ashwin and his team used such towels that had a special type of chemical. This changed the position of the ball. On coming in contact with the bat, the ball -like sound came from the ball. Even after repeated warnings, Ashwin and his team did not listen.
The match was won by Dindigul Dragans by 9 wickets. Ashwin did not get any wicket in that match. He scored an innings of 49 runs.
Ravichandran Ashwin is participating in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Ashwin has taken 3 wickets in 3 matches.
On this matter, CEO Prasanna Kanan of the league said-
If Madurai Panthers have any suit then they should introduce them. They have filed a complaint, which we have seen. Although a 24 -hour difference complaint should be filed, we have accepted the complaint and asked them to present the evidence regarding the allegations.
He said-
If we find any concrete evidence we will form an independent committee. If there is no evidence, then it is not right to make such allegations against a player and franchise.
Last week was argued with field umpires 38 -year -old Ravichandran Ashwin has come into controversy for the second time in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Last week, he was punished for arguing with the Field Umpire. Ashwin had argued with the umpire and then angrily threw his gloves.
