Mahashivaratri, which falls in Mahakumbh year, is going to be historic this time. There is a possibility of a record breaking crowd of devotees to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple. In view of this, the temple administration has completely suspended VIP philosophy, touch darshan, special darshan and all protocols.
Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Srikashi Vishwanath Temple, said that this time the number of devotees on Mahashivaratri is going to be more than last year. Thousands of devotees are reaching for darshan every day due to Mahakumbh, in such a situation, there will be a historic crowd on 26 February.
There will be 32 hours special worship in the temple
After Mangala Aarti from 12 o’clock on the night of Mahashivaratri, darshan-worship will start and will continue for 32 hours continuously till Bhog Aarti of the next day. During this time no special entry or ticket booking will be available.
10 lakh devotees arrived last year
In 2023, more than 10 lakh devotees visited Baba Vishwanath by 12 noon, which reached 12 lakhs to dawn. This time this number is likely to increase further, so end to end barricading and medical teams have been deployed for the convenience of devotees.
VIP philosophy completely closed
VIP philosophy, touch philosophy and special philosophy will be completely banned on Mahashivaratri. Rudrabhishek will be completed by the traditional method on behalf of the temple trust. The devotees of Kashi are very excited about the Shiva procession as well as Baba’s darshan. On behalf of the temple administration, complete arrangements are being made to make devotees smooth.
