Xiaomi has recently confirmed that it is going to hold a launch event in Bangladesh on 20 March. The brand will introduce the Redmi Note 14 series in the country. However, during this time, the brand is already teasing the launch of entry-level smartphone Redmi A5. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variants of Redmi A5 are priced at BDT 10,999 (about Rs 7,810) and 6GB RAM and 128GB variant in Bangladesh. This phone will be available in four color options Black, Beige, Blue and Green. Xiaomi is currently teasing with the launch of A5 and has not disclosed its specification and price. It is expected that the brand will confirm these specifications later this week. It is likely that A5 will be rebranded as Poco C71 in some markets including India.

The Redmi A5 will have a 6.88 -inch LCD display with waterdrop notch, which has HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This phone will be given a UNISOC T7250 chipset which is a rebranded version of the current UNISOC T616 SoC. In terms of storage, Redmi A5 will come in two options such as 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. The device will have a 5,200mAh battery that supports 18W charging. However, the retail package of the phone includes a 15W charger. The Redmi A5 has an AG frosted glass back and oval shape camera module, which will have a 32 -megapixel primary camera in the rear. For the same selfie and video calling, it will get an 8 -megapixel front camera. For security, it will be given side-facing fingerprint sensor.
