I decided to come to the holy land of Lord Jagannath and celebrate this historic day with the people of Odisha instead.” On hearing this statement, the people present in the meeting welcomed him with a thunderous applause.
One year celebrations of achievements
This visit of PM Modi was held to commemorate the completion of one year of the BJP government for the first time in Odisha. He appreciated the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi and said that this year is “celebration of good governance and public confidence”. He said, “This one year is not just a stop, but a proof of commitment to public service. I congratulate the people of Odisha and the entire team of Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi.”

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi visited the Jagannath temple and also interacted with the beneficiaries of the schemes of the state and central government. He described Odisha’s cultural heritage and spiritual consciousness as the soul of Indianness.
