India got independence on 15 August 1947. During this time, the country had no constitution of its own. The draft of the constitution was prepared by the Constituent Assembly led by Dr. BR Ambedkar. The committee presented the final draft of the Constitution in the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1948. A few months later, the Constitution was assimilated on 26 January 1950, according to which the country of India was declared a democratic, sovereign and republic country.

On 26 January 1950, the first President of the country, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, hoisted the flag with the salute of 21 cannons and declared India a full republic. It is one of the most historical moments in the country.
