Team India vice -captain Rishabh Pant has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Also a demerit point is also given. The Indian team is on a tour of England. He clashed with a field umpire to change the ball on the third day in the headingley test.
According to the council, Pant has violated Level-1 of the ICC Code of Conduct and for this he has been given a demerit point. No economic penalty has been imposed under the penalty. This was the first crime in a 24 -month period for Pant.
Without getting 4 demerit points within 24 months, the player gets a match suspension.
Pant has accepted his mistake and has also accepted the punishment imposed by the ICC Elite Panel of Match referee Richie Richardson.

What the Code of Conduct’s law says According to the ICC Code of Conduct, a violation of Level-1 and Level-2 costs minus 50 per cent match fees with 1 to 2 demerit points. Violation of Level-3 gives 6 Tests and 12 ODI suspension. Pant has been fined 1 demerit point.
On the other hand, if a player collects four or more demerit points in 24 months, they turn into suspension point, after which the player may be banned by one Test or two ODIs or two T20 matches. The demerit points remain in records for 24 months, after which they are removed.
