On 23 June 2025, his knee surgery was performed at Max Super Specialty Hospital, located in Saket, Delhi. According to a statement issued by the hospital, he had serious problems such as severe osteoarthritis in both knees as well as a serious problem such as Veus (Bo-Legged) and Flexian (folded knee) contrast. Also, it was very difficult for him to walk without support.
Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Max Institute of Robotic Joint Replacement, led the surgery. Dr. Sujoy used the Cementless Medial Pivot Cruceate-Retaining (CR) implant along with advanced robotic technology.
Doctor Bhattacharjee said that this is a new step in robotic surgery, which cures the patient quickly and has his joint natural feel. Talking about the recovery of the patient, Dr. Bhattacharjee said, he could not walk at all before the surgery. But after surgery, he started walking by himself.
