New Delhi. The Indian cricket team has to go on a difficult tour of England next month. Just before this tour, Test captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli announced his retirement from this format. Former Indian cricketer and coach Yograj Singh has expressed concern over the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Test cricket. They believe that the decision of these two should be withdrawn so that the future of Indian red-ball cricket can be saved. Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh is the mouth of former all -rounder Yuvraj Singh. In such a relationship, Yograj Singh will be like his father -in -law.

According to Yograj, the departure of these two senior batsmen can weaken the Indian team against England. The team will live without its most experienced players before the five -match Test series starting from June 20. He says that especially Kohli still has many years of cricket left and he should reconsider his decision.

Yograj told IANS, “Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should come back from retirement to save Indian Test cricket. It is not the time to think about itself – this country, fans and people have deep feelings about the people. Virat still has at least ten years of cricket left. As far as Rohit is concerned, I will ensure that I will return to my own, I will ensure that he returns to his own. Come, “

The senior cricketer also informed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should give support and security to the players in challenging time. He further said, “In 2011, players like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag were dropped from the team without any reason. When Yuvraj retired, I rebuked him – I told him that he should not come under pressure. He is still very fit. Cricketers should fight for their place in the team, not to bend in front of external pressures,”

“BCCI should act like a parent-should protect and support its players, not ego or politics to dominate decisions.”

In 2011, he gave examples of suddenly out of the team to players like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag and expressed disappointment over the lack of clear reasons. Yograj has requested his son Yuvraj Singh to contact Kohli and advise him not to make the same mistake that Yuvraj had retired in a hurry. Yograj said, “I told Yuvi to call Virat and say, ‘Don’t make the same mistake’. I am sure that they (Rohit and Virat) will look back and regret it after a few years. Because the disappointment will definitely come out one day but what will be the benefit then?”
