Fellow soldiers paid tribute to Gurdeep Singh.
Ropar jawan died during duty in Kolkata. The deceased has been identified as Havildar Gurdeep Singh of 70 Engineering Regiment. He suddenly suffered a heart attack on Tuesday. He was 34 years old.

Gurdeep Singh was a resident of village Raipur Jhajj. He is survived by his wife and a one -year -old daughter. They were married nine years ago. The army performed traditional rituals at the Chandi temple in Panchkula on Wednesday. His body will reach his ancestral village on Thursday morning.

Join duty 10 to 12 days ago The funeral will be performed on Thursday 21 August at 10 am with state and military honors. The funeral will include senior army officers, local administration and people from the area. Gurdeep Singh joined duty after 10 to 12 days in advance.
