Dictatorship did not last long in India: Ambekar
He said that RSS workers were tortured and tried to find out the names of those leaders of the Sangh, who were opposing the Emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi government across the country. Due to the continuous mass movement in the country, the dictatorship finally came to an end and democracy was established in the country.
The RSS leader said that the dictatorship came in India only after 25 years of independence. It is also important to understand that wherever dictatorship came in the world, it lasted for a long time, although this did not happen at all in India. At that time the volunteers agitated. During this time, he had to go to jail and face many torture.
He said that during the Emergency, the then union chief Balasaheb Deoras was arrested from Nagpur station. At that time there were about 1,300 public campaigners of the Sangh, out of which 180 campaigners were arrested. Due to this, many campaigners had to change disguise at that time.
