Prime Minister Narendra Modi will issue a memorial postage stamp and coin this week to commemorate the centenary year of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The RSS, established on the day of Vijayadashami in 1925, will complete its 100 years on Thursday (October 2, 2025).
Sources said that on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Prime Minister will issue a memorial postage stamp and coin in the presence of Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosbole of RSS on the eve of the centenary year celebrations of the organization.
PM Modi praised RSS
Prime Minister Modi had praised the selfless service and discipline of the RSS on Sunday (September 28, 2025) and said that the nation is always the highest in every work of its volunteers. In his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, the Prime Minister said that the RSS was founded by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in 1925 to free the country from intellectual slavery on the day of Vijayadashami and since then its journey has been as inspiring and unprecedented.
Modi himself, who was the RSS pracharak himself, heidgewar’s successor M.S. Golwalkar was also praised and said that his statement that ‘it is not mine but of the nation’ inspires people to rise above selfishness and adopt dedication to the nation.

PM Modi said, ‘This statement of Guruji Golwalkar has shown the path of sacrifice and service to millions of volunteers. This spirit of sacrifice, service and discipline from it is the real strength of the Sangh. Today, the RSS has been tirelessly engaged in nation service for more than 100 years.
Preparations are on to organize several programs including more than one lakh ‘Hindu conferences’ across the country to commemorate the centenary year of RSS.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a program in Nagpur on Sunday (September 28, 2025), released a collection of RSS songs, which he described as dedication to the motherland. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also attended this program.
The ‘Sangh Geet’ albums consists of 25 songs sung by the famous singer Shankar Mahadevan, out of which he performed during the program. Praising the spirit of songs, Bhagwat said, ‘Sangh songs arise from dedication to motherland and penance of life. These songs originate from the lively experiences of volunteers. These songs are the gift of dedication to the motherland.
RSS Songs present in every Indian language
The RSS has songs in every Indian language, whose estimated total number is between 25,000 and 30,000. Bhagwat will give his annual Vijayadashami address at the Union Headquarters in Nagpur on Thursday (October 2, 2025), with which a series of programs will start across the country till the next Vijayadashami. During this time, Bhagwat will also start a nation-wide household public relations campaign and thousands of seminars will be organized in all the states on various subjects including social harmony.
