Like every month, some major changes are going to happen from September, which can affect the financial life of common people. Credit card rules including Aadhaar card update, ITR, UPS are going to change in September. Also, like every month, the prices of LPG gas can also be seen. The price of jet fuel and CNG-PNG can also be reflected. Let’s know what is going to change from September.
First change- ITR filing
This time the Income Tax Department had extended the last date of filling ITR from 30 July to 15 September 2025, which has given the extra time to file returns, but now this time will end this month. In such a situation, you have to file ITR before September 15. Otherwise the notice can come.
Second change- UPS Deadline
Central government employees under the National Pension System (NPS) have time till September 30 to choose Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). Earlier this date was 30 June, but later it was extended to 30 September. This is a pension scheme launched for government employees.
Third change- Indian Posts Rules
The Department of Posts (DOP) is merging the post post service at the domestic level since September 1, 2025, which means that now something can be sent only through speed post, not by ordinary post. So if you send a registered post through India Post within the country from 1 September, then this speed post will be delivered.
Fourth Change- Credit Card Rules
SBI card has announced a change in rules for its select cards since September 1, 2025. The company has amended the reward points program for some of its cards. With this amendment, customers with such cards will not be able to earn reward points on digital gaming and transactions on government website.
Fifth change- Special FD schemes
Banks like Indian Bank and IDBI Bank are currently running FDs of certain periods of special periods. The last date to invest in 444-day and 555-day schemes of Indian Bank is September 30, 2025. Similarly, IDBI Bank’s last date to invest in 444-day, 555-day and 700-day special FD is also 30 September.
Sixth change- CNG-PNG and Jet Fuel
Oil companies also change the price of CNG, PNG and Jet Fuel (AFT) along with LPG. It is expected that their prices may also change from September.
Seventh change- price of LPG cylinder
Like every month, the price of LPG cylinder can be changed from September 1. The price of commercial cylinders has been changing for the last several months. Last month too, the price of commercial cylinders was changed. In August, commercial LPG cylinder price was reduced by Rs 33.50 to Rs 1,631.50 in Delhi to Rs 1,631.50. The price of LPG cylinder is Rs 853 in Delhi, which has not changed since 8 April 2025.
