First change- increase in rail fares
The month of July is going to bring many major changes and these include changes related to Indian Railways. The first date of the month i.e. July 1, 2025, the Indian Railway is going to increase the passenger fares, although this will be a slight increase but in many years the train ticket hike will be the first time. Under this, the pockets of passengers traveling especially can be loose. This change in rail fares will increase by 1 paise per kilometer in non-AC mail and express trains, while AC class will see an increase of 2 paise per kilometer.
However, some segments will be unaffected by this increase, such as the price of Second Class Train Ticket for traveling up to 500 kilometers, there will be no change in the prices and MST, but for a distance of more than 500 kilometers, the fare will increase half the paisa per kilometer.
Second change- tatkal ticket booking rule
The second change related to the Railways from July 1 next month is related to the Tatkal Ticket Booking Rule Change and will be able to book Tatkal tickets on IRCTC website or app from 1 July 2025 with an important digital update. Announcing this change in the past, it was said that the objective of this move of Indian Railways is to ensure that the benefit of immediate booking scheme can be given to the needy and right users.
Apart from this, the Indian Railway has also imposed many types of ban on the authorized booking agents and one of them is that agents can no longer book Tatkal tickets during the first 30 minutes of booking window. Tell us about the new timing, then this process will be on for AC Class Ticket from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm and Non-A from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Third change- OTP Authentication
Talking about the third change related to the railway in the month of July, this is also being done to strengthen the Tatkal ticket booking process. In fact, from 1 July 2025, where Aadhaar Verified users will be allowed to do online tatkal ticket booking through IRCTC website or app, then from July 15, Aadhaar based OTP authentication will be made mandatory for this work. It is expected that counter -based Tatkal tickets will also be booked after Aadhaar verification to curb the disturbances during TATKAL TICKET booking.
