Russia described Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky’s statement as “positive” in which he said that he is ready to come to the conversation table to end the three -year -old struggle with Russia.

In fact, while addressing the US Parliament, President Donald Trump claimed that he was sent a letter by Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky. Trump said, “The letter says, Ukraine is ready to come to the table of the agreement as soon as possible to get closer to peace. No one wants more peace than the people of Ukraine.”

Russia suspects this

In response to a question of AFP, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov told the media, “This approach is generally positive.” Kremlin has repeatedly expressed doubt that Jailonsci will interact with him. On Wednesday, Peskov cited a decree passed by Zelancesi, in which he dismissed a direct conversation with Putin.

Jailonsky has since said on several occasions that he is ready to meet Putin but this will be possible only when Kiev and her western colleagues agree on the status of a common conversation.

Moscow has also accused Zelansky of not being a valid leader, citing the end of his five -year term after his election in 2019 as President. Under Ukrainian martial law, elections are restricted during the war. Prominent European supporters of Jailonsky have supported the suspension of voting amidst Russia being aggressive on a large scale.

Trump wants elections in Ukraine

Although Trump claimed that the Ukrainian leaders are widely unpopular in the house and therefore should be held there. After a confrontation with Jailonsky in the Oval Office, Trump announced to stop the US military assistance to Kiev this week.

Kiev and the whole of Europe are fearing that Trump is trying to force Ukraine to accept a largely favorable peace agreement for Moscow. Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense has claimed that its soldiers have captured another small village in the eastern Donnetsk region of Ukraine.
