New Delhi. South Africa, which has made it to the WTC final, has taken steps towards a clean sweep against Pakistan. The host African team has prepared to score a huge score by batting stormily on the first day of the second test against Pakistan. Team opener Ryan Rickleton and captain Temba Bavuma made a partnership of 235 runs to take their team to a strong score. South Africa has scored 316 runs for 4 wickets in 80 overs till stumps on the first day of the match.

The second Test match between South Africa and Pakistan started on Friday, 3 January. In the match being played in Cape Town, African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Ryan Rickleton and Aiden Markram made an opening partnership of 61 runs. Markram was out after scoring 17 runs. After him, Viaan Mulder (5) and Tristan Stubbs (0) also got out in quick succession.

Pakistan tried to put pressure on the host team by reducing South Africa by 3 wickets to 72 runs. But Ryan Rickleton and Temba Bavuma wasted Pakistan’s efforts. Both these batsmen scored centuries and took their team to 307 runs. Temba Bavuma was out on this score. He played an innings of 106 runs in 179 balls. This is his fourth test century.

Ryan Rickleton scored the second century of his career. At the end of the first day’s play, he was unbeaten after scoring 276 runs in 232 balls. Rickleton had earlier played an innings of 113 runs in the first test match against Sri Lanka. This is the 10th test match of his career. Rickleton also completed 500 runs of his career during this match.

Let us tell you that South Africa has made it to the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). The African team had defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets in the first test match. He is leading 1-0 in the 2-match series. In the race for the second team of the WTC final, there is a contest between India, Australia and Sri Lanka.
