Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said on X, “The views expressed by Sam Pitroda on China are not the views of the Indian National Congress.”
This explanation from the Congress has come on the statement of Sam Pitroda in which he said that ‘I am not able to understand the danger from China. I think this issue is often exaggerated, as America has a tendency to define the enemy.

Jairam Ramesh said in a social media post, ‘The alleged views expressed by Sam Pitroda on China are definitely not the views of the Indian National Congress. China remains the biggest challenge in our foreign policy, external security, and economic sector. The Congress party has repeatedly questioned the Modi government’s perspective towards China, including a clean chit given by the Prime Minister on 19 June 2020.
He said, ‘Our most recent statement on China was released on 28 January 2025. It is also extremely unfortunate that Parliament is not being given an opportunity to discuss this situation and express collective resolutions to find an effective solution to these challenges.

Sam Pitroda said, ‘I believe that now the time has come that all countries should cooperate among themselves, not conflict. Our approach has been a conflict from the beginning and this attitude creates enemies which in return raise support inside the country. We need to change this pattern and we have to stop assuming that China is an enemy from day one.
