Tesla, one of the large electric vehicle (EV) companies, has deals with Samsung Electronics for manufacturing Next Generation Chips. The value of this deal is $ 16.5 billion (about 1.42 lakh crore rupees). Samsung’s foundry division will manufacture AI6 chips in its factory in Texas, USA. These chips will be used in full self-driving (FSD) and other systems in the EVs of Billionaire Elon Musk.
For the past few years, preparations are being made to introduce full self-driving feature in Tesla’s electric vehicles. In a post on social media platform x, Musk said that Tesla has a strategic partnership with Samsung. Under this partnership, AI6 chips will be manufactured in the Texas factory of Samsung’s Foundry Division. Samsung is already making AI4 chips for this Musk’s company. These chips are used in FSD and other sensor systems in the company’s EVs.
Tesla is also allowed to assist Samsung to increase the efficiency of manufacturing of chips. This process will be monitored by mask. The deal between the two companies was signed last week. The deal will run for the next seven years. Providing the feature of FSD in Tesla’s electric vehicles can increase the pace of sales. In the last few years, competition has increased in EVS market for Tesla. Demand has declined due to apprehension about tariffs in the US and the possibility of ending tax credit on electric vehicles in the US. China’s byd and some other EV makers are getting a tough competition.
Due to the decrease in sales in large markets, Tesla has started business in new markets like India. Recently, the company opened its first showroom in Mumbai in Mumbai. However, initially it is only selling its model Y. Booking has started for this. The company’s model Y has been imported from its Shanghai factory in China. However, due to high import duty in the country, expensive prices may affect Tesla’s sale.
