‘Millions of people were put in jail during Emergency’

He said that an emergency was ordered on the night of June 24, 1975. An ordinance was implemented to bring out the thinking of a dictator to the ground. Baba Saheb Ambedkar worked hard in the Constituent Assembly and prepared the Constitution, Indira Gandhi ended all that in an order.

JP’s movement started connecting youth across the country. Movements took place across the country. On June 24, the court, newspaper was silenced by putting emergency and millions of people were put in jail. It was announced by calling the cabinet at 4 am.

Regarding the Emergency, Shah said that people like Mulayam Singh Yadav, JP, Atalji, Rajnarayan and Arun Jaitley were put in jail. The proceedings of Parliament were also imposed and the courts were controlled.

‘Many films were banned’

Shah said that the voice of Kishore Kumar was closed during the Emergency. Manoj Kumar’s films were banned and Devanand’s film was not allowed to run. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that at that time an idea had flourished, a bigger party from the country, a bigger family than the party, but today we talk about the nation first under the leadership of Modi ji.

Apart from the Home Minister, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ashwini Vaishnav, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended the program.
