Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on Sunday was very revered. Last year, after the tense relations between the BJP and the Sangh, the whole country was eyeing the visit. However, the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tied the bridges of praise of the RSS in the recent past, it was clear that there is no bitterness between the Sangh and the BJP. Hedgewar Smriti Mandir which is the first two Sarsanghchals of RSS K.B. Hedgewar and M.S. Golwalkar is built in memory, where Modi’s departure itself remained unexpected for the people of the Sangh. This is being seen as an attempt to improve relations between BJP and RSS and show unity. But Modi did not forget to go to the holy initiation land related to Dr. Ambedkar in Nagpur. This is the place where Dr. Ambedkar adopted Buddhism. Let us discuss the political aspects of this visit of Modi.
1-The events of Nagpur after Prayagraj Mahakumbh will have to be understood
Kumbh in Prayagraj is held every 12 years. But this time the kind of crowd gathered and the kind of enthusiasm that was seen all over the country was unprecedented. The rise of Hindutva cannot be denied behind this. The entire North India was choke during Kumbh. If about 65 crore people reached Kumbh, it means that every other man living in the country came to Kumbh. Hindus went beyond caste and took a confluence. It was a Hindu Renaissance thing. It is obvious that the Sangh had decades of hard work behind it. Not only this, the Sangh workers had worked hard to make this event a success. The system of Aquarius was not only a matter of government officials. Perhaps this is the reason why PM Modi during his visit to Nagpur appreciated the volunteers for the role played in the Mahakumbh Mela of Prayagraj. And this is also proving that the role of the Sangh is becoming important in the BJP’s core agenda. Because, Modi’s food is that he recognizes the wind trend well. And the Sangh is also understanding that in the flowing air of Hindutva, it cannot stand apart from the BJP.
2-What message is for the union
Usually such a discussion was going on, there has been a distance between BJP and RSS. Some of the comments by Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat were also seen as a direct criticism of the party leadership and Prime Minister Modi after the BJP’s poor performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It was believed that the Sangh had a statement of BJP President JP Nadda. After which the union had withdrawn from supporting the Indian public parts in the Lok Sabha elections. Prior to the Lok Sabha elections, BJP President JP Nadda told The Indian Express that the BJP has now surpassed when it needed the Sangh, and now it is capable and takes its own decisions. After this, some distances were seen between the BJP and the Sangh. But in the victory of Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi assembly elections, a big role of RSS came out.
It was also seen that the RSS who used to work for the BJP from behind the curtain earlier, now he was openly telling the media about his works. For example, in the Haryana Assembly and Delhi Assembly elections, the entire strategy of the Sangh started appearing in newspapers. But the real game is after Mahakumbh. The way Hindus have gathered from the whole country in Mahakumbh, it is a renaissance of Hindus in a way. Obviously, there is a practice of RSS for years. It has become clear from Modi’s visit that the Sangh is no longer an ideological and cultural institution. His role in BJP has risen.
3-What message is for BJP
The BJP leaders had taken a clear line between the government and the Sangh, taking great care in the past. But Narendra Modi does not miss praising the Sangh on many occasions. It is said that Narendra Modi himself has been a campaigner of RSS, so he does not have any kind of hesitation. Earlier, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee kept avoiding such praise. Now a few days ago, Modi had thanked the Sangh for giving right guidance to his life in a podcast. The Prime Minister praised the RSS in Nagpur also referred to the RSS as an organization that maintained the highest principles of dedication and service. Modi also showed the importance of the Sangh’s role in the plans of India developed till 2047 by underlining the creative role in the Sangh’s nation building and development. It is obvious that the Sangh is now going to play an important role in the role of finding and preparing the successor of the new president and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in BJP.
4-What message is for Hindu unity
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also tried to give a political message by visiting the Deekshbhoomi related to the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar along with a visit to the Sangh headquarters. The RSS has been accusing a section of Hinduism that the Sangh is still a nutritious of varna system. No major of the Sangh could become a person of Dalit or backward caste. But PM Modi has made his image as a backward leader and well -wisher of Dalits. Perhaps this is the reason that the Prime Minister also remembered Babasaheb in his address at the Union Headquarters and praised the Indian Constitution. It is the first priority for both the BJP and the Sangh to make inroads between Dalits. Deekshabhoomi is the same place where Ambedkar adopted Buddhism in 1956 with thousands of his followers. Modi went inside the stupa at Deekshabhoomi and paid tribute to Ambedkar’s bones kept there. Modi has given a message to the Dalit people by repeating the commitment of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s dreams of dreams of dreams even more hard to realize India.
