New Delhi. Indian team wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been selected in India’s 15-member Asia Cup team. The tournament will start in the United Arab Emirates on 9 September and its finals will be played on 28 September. A few weeks before this mega event, Samson’s wife Charuththa Ramesh shared a worrying update about the player from the hospital on social media. He told that Samson was in the hospital on August 21 at 3 pm. On the same day, the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) was his match in 2025.

For those who do not know, let us know that Samson is currently captaining Kochi Blue Tigers in KCL. The match that Charulatha was talking about was the second match of the tournament. In this, Samson’s team Kochi Blue Tigers defeated Adani Trivandrum Royals by 8 wickets. Samson did not get a chance to bat in this game. Samson was in the hospital at 3 pm that day, he participated in the match to be held at 7:45 pm. Charulata shared this information through Instagram Story.

Till now it is not clear why Samson was in the hospital, but if the matter is serious then it can cause trouble for the BCCI selectors and the Indian cricket team. It is noteworthy that Samson opens with Abhishek Sharma in the shortest format for the Indian cricket team.

Prior to the tournament last week, Samson showed power in a high-voltage friendly T20 match at Greenfield Stadium. Under his captaincy, Secretary XI in the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) beat Sachin Baby’s KCA President XI by an exciting one wicket.

Batting first, Chairman XI scored 184/8 in 20 overs. Rohan Kunnumal strengthened the team in 29 balls of 60 runs in 29 balls and Abhijeet Praveen’s 47 -run fiery innings in 18 balls, although wickets fell at regular intervals. Sharafuddin (3 wickets) and Sizoman Joseph (2 wickets) of Secretary XI gave significant shocks, which made it possible to achieve the target.

In response, Secretary XI scored 188/9 runs chasing the target in 19.4 overs. Wicketkeeper Vishnu Vinod scored 69 runs in 29 balls, while captain Samson handled the innings by scoring 54 runs in 36 balls. The match lasted till the last over, in which Basil Thampi ensured the victory by hitting a six with two balls remaining.
