Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik died on Tuesday at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi after prolonged illness. He breathed his last at 1:20 pm.
He had been battling kidney disease for a long time. On May 11, he was admitted to the hospital when the condition deteriorated.
Satyapal was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir from 23 August 2018 to 30 October 2019. During his tenure, Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir on 5 August 2019 on this day.
79 -year -old Satyapal Malik was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi from 11 May.
Satyapal was born on 24 July 1946. He was the 10th and last governor of Jammu and Kashmir from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, he also served as the Governor of Goa and Meghalaya. He was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1974-77. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha in 1980-86 and 1986-89 and the 9th Lok Sabha in 1989-91. He was also the Governor of Bihar.
