Former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satyapal Malik has broken the silence 15 days after the charge sheet was filed in the corruption case related to the Kiru Hydropower Project of Jammu and Kashmir. He posted on X on Saturday and claimed that he was offered a bribe of Rs 150 crore as the governor.

Satyapal wrote, ‘I have been in the hospital for almost a month. I am struggling with kidney problem. If I had wealth today, I would have undergone treatment in a private hospital. In the case in which I want to trap me, I had canceled the tender myself, I told the Prime Minister myself, there is corruption in this matter.

After telling the PM, I myself canceled the tender, after my transfer, this tender was passed from someone else’s sign. When I was a governor, I was offered a bribe of Rs 150-150 crore at that time, but my faith never deteriorated. ‘

On May 22, the CBI filed a charge sheet against 5 people including Satyapal Malik in the corruption case related to the Kiru Hydropower Project in Jammu and Kashmir. It is accused of disturbing the civil works contract worth about Rs 2,200 crore. The CBI raided Satyapal Malik’s hideout on 22 February 2024. Also raided 29 other locations in Delhi.

Satyapal Malik wrote in the post on X that the government is looking for excuses to implicate me in a false charge sheet by showing fear of CBI.
