Security has been tightened to maintain law and order in West Bengal regarding Ram Navami. According to the police, the process of religious program will start across the state from Sunday morning and only more than 60 processions are likely to come out in Kolkata.

According to the report of the news agency, Kolkata Police has deployed more than 3,500 soldiers on the occasion of Ramnavami. These will be monitored by the Deputy Commissioner and Joint Commissioner Rank officials. The procession will be monitored through drone cameras and CCTVs, while Quick Response Team (QRT) has been deployed in sensitive areas like Antaly, Kasipore, Khidirpur and Chitpur.

Live streaming of rallies will be monitored from Kolkata Police Headquarters Lalbazar. More than 20 IPS officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of different divisions. This promptness of the police will continue till 7 April.

Senior police officers will also monitor the situation in other districts of Havada, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Asansol, East and West Bardhaman, Malda, Murshidabad, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri.

On Saturday, people took out a rally with a sword and cardboard replicas of Trishul on the occasion of worship of Devi Singhwahini in Sankrail area of ​​Howrah. This day is traditionally celebrated in Bengal as Annapurna Puja.

The political intensity in Bengal has intensified on Ram Navami regarding the 2026 assembly elections. This time the BJP and other Hinduist organizations as well as the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) have also announced the Ram Navami rallies.

Last year, incidents of violence have come to light in Bengal during Ram Navami. Violence, arson and communal clashes took place during the rally in Shibpur area of ​​Howrah in 2023, after which the deployment of central security forces and Section 144 had to be implemented. In 2022, similar situations were seen in Shibpur and Rishra. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has claimed that this time 1.5 crore Hindus will take to the streets on Ram Navami and more than 2,000 rallies will be taken out across the state.
