Tamil nadu domicile based reservation: The Bill sent to the Center to get exemption from the Medical Entrance Examination NEET by the Tamil Nadu government has been rejected by the Central Government. The DMK government of the state wanted the admissions in medical colleges to be on the basis of 12th marks. But the Center said that doing so is against the national health policy. This has caused a big shock to the state government.
Chief Minister MK Stalin said this
President Draupadi Murmu rejected the bill allowing the use of class 12th marks for exemption from NEET and admission to medical. Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the bill passed twice by the state for exemption from NEET has been rejected by the central government. He said that this has insulted Tamil Nadu and described it as a bad phase for the federal structure. The assembly had earlier demanded the removal of NEET from the Center so that medical admission could be done on the basis of the school marksheet.
In June last year, the Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution, urging the central government to abolish the NEET system and to decide to decide on the basis of school marks.
CM expressed resentment
The CM expressed displeasure over dismissing this bill. He said that this is an insult to Tamil Nadu and described it as “black round for federalism”. He also said that the central government may have rejected the request of Tamil Nadu but our fight is not over yet. We will talk to legal experts on legal measures to challenge this decision. “According to sources, the meeting of all the MLAs will probably be held on 9 April.
