Amit Shah on Thursday released the book ‘Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh: Through the Ages’ at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in Delhi.
Home Minister Amit Shah said in the launch program of the book ‘Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh through the Ages’ in Delhi on Thursday that Kashmir can be named after Kashyap. Historians tried to tell the history of Kashmir through books. I appeal to historians to write history on the basis of evidence.
He said- There was a period of 150 years when history meant from Delhi Dariba to Bally Maran and from Lutyens to Gymkhana, history was limited to this only. It is time to free ourselves from history written to please the rulers. I appeal to historians to write our thousands of years old history with facts.
Shah said that Kashmir has an unbreakable bond with India. Temples were demolished in Ladakh, mistakes were made in Kashmir after independence, then they were rectified. The mention of Shankaracharya, Silk Route, Hemish Math prove that the foundation of Indian culture was laid in Kashmir itself. Sufi, Buddhist and Shail monasteries all flourished in Kashmir. The right things should be put before the people of the country.
India is the only geo-cultural country in the world He said that the existence of all the countries of the world is geopolitical. They are created by boundaries resulting from war or agreement. India is the only country in the world which is a ‘geo-cultural’ country and borders are defined by culture. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Gandhara to Odisha and Bengal to Assam, we are connected by our culture, those who define a country geopolitically cannot define our country.
We have to understand the facts that connect the country Shah said- To understand India, we have to understand the facts that connect our country. Analyzing where Kashmir and Ladakh were based on who ruled them, who lived there and what agreements were made is futile. Only historians with a distorted view of history can do this. India’s 10,000-year-old culture was also present in Kashmir.
When Kashmir and Jhelum are mentioned in 8000 years old books, no one can comment on whose Kashmir it is. Kashmir is an integral part of India and has always been so. No one can set it aside using sections of the law. Efforts were made to separate but in the flow of time those clauses were repealed and all obstacles were removed.
Complete history of 8000 years in the book Shah said- All the facts have been presented in detail in the book ‘J&K and Ladakh through the Ages’. The artwork present in the ruins of old temples proves that Kashmir is a part of India. Kashmir is also an integral part of the Buddhist journey from Nepal to Afghanistan. From Buddhism to the demolished temples, to the use of Sanskrit, from the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to the Dogra rule, to the mistakes made after 1947 and their correction, the entire history of 8000 years is contained in this book.”
Article 370 sowed the seeds of separatism in the valley Shah said, “Articles 370 and 35A were the articles which hindered the integration of Kashmir with the rest of the country. PM Modi’s determination led to the abrogation of Article 370. This led to the integration of Kashmir along with the rest of the country. The development of Article 370 sowed the seeds of separatism in the valley, which later turned into terrorism.
Article 370 spread a myth that the relationship between Kashmir and India is temporary. There was terrorism there for decades and the country kept watching. After the abrogation of Article 370, terrorism has reduced by 70%. Congress can accuse us of whatever it wants. PM Modi released a package of Rs 80,000 crore. Modi government also destroyed the terrorist eco-system from the valley.
Modi gave new life to the languages of Kashmir Shah said- I want to thank PM Modi for giving new life to the languages of Kashmir by creating two union territories. PM Modi stressed that every language spoken in Kashmir should be given importance and included. This proves how sensitive the PM of any country can be towards the languages of the country.
