In the monsoon session of Parliament, the much -awaited debate on Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor is starting on Monday (July 28, 2025). The discussion was to be led by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh from 12 noon, but as soon as the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started, the opposition parties tried to surround the government by shouting noise and slogans, after which the proceedings of the House have been adjourned till 1 pm. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reached Parliament House amidst opposition uproar.
When the media asked questions about Shashi Tharoor discussion, Tharoor replied in only two words- “Maunavrat … Maunvrat”. His brief and symbolic answer has now become a matter of debate in political circles. At the same time, the Congress party has issued a whip to its MPs to be present in this important debate. According to sources, the party has asked its members to ensure active participation in the House for the next three days.
After the consent of both the power and the opposition on the Pahalgam attack, it was believed that Shashi Tharoor would appear in an important role on behalf of the Congress, but the six leaders whose names have been decided by the Congress for this debate on Monday, Tharoor is not named.

Signs of discomfort between Tharoor and party
