Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan wrote a letter to Delhi CM Atishi on January 1. Shivraj accused the Delhi government of not implementing the Centre’s schemes for farmers.

Shivraj wrote that, former CM Arvind Kejriwal has betrayed the farmer brothers and sisters of Delhi. As soon as Kejriwal came into government, instead of taking public decisions, he raised his voice.

However, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said, we did not expect this from Shivraj Singh Chauhan. PM Modi had promised that the income of farmers would be doubled, but nothing happened.

Shivraj wrote- There is no sympathy for farmers in Delhi government. Shivraj Singh wrote in the letter that Delhi CM never took appropriate decisions in the interest of farmers. The farmer friendly schemes of the Central Government have also been stopped from being implemented in Delhi by the AAP government. There is no sympathy for farmers in your government. Today the farmer brothers and sisters of Delhi are worried and worried.

Due to Delhi Government not implementing many farmer welfare schemes of the Centre, farmer brothers and sisters are being deprived of the benefits of these schemes. Earlier also I had written a letter to you informing you about the problems of the farmers of Delhi, but it is a matter of concern that your government has not solved these problems.

There is AAP government in Delhi for the last 10 years but it has always seemed that former Chief Minister Shri Kejriwal has only cheated the farmer brothers and sisters and taken political advantage of them by making big announcements before the elections. As soon as Mr. Kejriwal came into government, he has always cried foul instead of taking public-friendly decisions.

Shivraj wrote- AAP’s policies are anti-agriculture and anti-farmer. In the letter, Shivraj accused you of being anti-farmer. The Agriculture Minister wrote – Not only have you not implemented the farmer welfare schemes of the Central Government in Delhi, but your policies have also been anti-agriculture and farmers.

Farmers of Delhi have told me that in Delhi, essential agricultural equipment like tractors, harvesters are being registered in the commercial vehicle category due to which farmers have to buy their agricultural equipment at higher prices.

You talk about free electricity but your government in Delhi has set high electricity rates for farmers. Farmers are currently being charged commercial rates for electricity in Delhi. Cheap electricity is necessary for irrigation and other agricultural works, but in Delhi, a huge amount is being charged from farmers for agricultural electricity.
