A 24 -hour -run command and control center has been set up in Madhopur, which is being monitored by a gazetted officer. This information was given by Punjab Special DGP Punjab Arpit Shukla. During this, he participated in the meeting of officers of army and various security agencies in Pathankot.

The journey will run till 9 August

This year, Shri Amarnath Yatra will start from 3 July 2025 and will run till 9 August 2025. Lakhs of devotees from across the country are involved in this annual journey, many of which pass through Pathankot district of Punjab, especially to visit the holy cave in Jammu and Kashmir. The Special DGP chaired a high -level security and coordination meeting with the police, army, civil administration and other security agencies to review security arrangements for the annual pilgrimage and ensure strong arrangements.

Pakistan has 26.385 km border

Special DGP Arpit Shukla said the strategic position of Pathankot, which shares a 26.385 km international border with Pakistan and where important defense units are located. In view of this, there is a need for additional vigilance in security.

He informed that the responsibility of all the roads going towards Jammu and Kashmir has been entrusted to the commandant level officials, strengthening security. The travel route is divided into security areas. So that 24 -hour grassroots monitoring and quick response in any emergency can be ensured.

Focus will be done on these things

To identify the potential hazards and prevent them in time, anti-sabotaz and security checks are being done daily at sensitive places including railway stations, bus stands, langar sites, religious places and entire travel routes.

The DGP also directed the concerned officials to ensure strong coordination with the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Himachal Pradesh Police and other central agencies.

He said that additional technical resources such as mobile monitoring units, high-resolution CCTV cameras, drone-based aerial monitoring, GPS-backed patrol and real-time reporting system are being used to monitor suspected persons.

Will inform the police

Police have given special information and training to the owners and staff of the petrol pump, dhaba, hotel, guest house and other establishments located on the roadside so that they can immediately inform the nearest police station to the owners and staff of other establishments located on the roadside installations.
