Academy coach Sanjay Rai said that the selectors always make a team keeping in mind the future. He believes that Shubman Gill is being seen as Future Captain, while Suryakumar Yadav’s age is also increasing. He told that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer are good players, but at the moment they do not fit fully in T20 format. However, both players can return at any time.

Coach Ranjan Singh said that Gill is being prepared for future captaincy. At the same time, sports lover Satish Pandey said that Gill has been included only to make a place in the team and for this another player was dropped. He said that if Gill had to be kept, then it should have been given in advance, bringing them at the time of Asia Cup raises questions on the selection.
