Sonam Wangchuk, famous for the environment and education arrested after violent protests over the statehood and constitutional security in Ladakh, has been shifted to Jodhpur Jail on Friday. Four people were killed and 90 people were injured during this violent demonstration. The Ladakh administration has stopped mobile internet in Leh district due to security reasons.
After completing the necessary formalities at Leh Airport, he was brought to Jodhpur by special flight. After reaching Jodhpur, he was taken to jail in a strict security system. There they were kept in a high security ward through cavelcade of several security vehicles there.

What happened all day on Friday?
Sonam Wangchuk had a plan to hold a press conference in Leh at around 2.30 pm. When he did not arrive, the organizers were worried and came to know that he was arrested by a team of Ladakh police from his village Ullakatopo, which was being led by DGSD Singh Jamwal.
Wangchuk was immediately sent out of Ladakh. In the press conference, the organizers said that recent violence was caused by losing the control of the youth and there was no foreign hand intervention.
Charing Dorje, co-chairman of Leh Apex Body, dismissed a foreign hand and demanded a judicial inquiry. He alleged that the police and CRPF did not use the warning pill to control the mob and fired directly.

Dorje said that the 35 -day fast started on September 10 under the leadership of Sonam Wangchuk. After this, the Center sent an invitation for talks on 6 October.
However, curfew continued in Leh and the administration maintained strict security for the third day. The ban on the gathering of five or more people was also applicable in some major cities due to curfew.

It is believed that a day before Wangchuk’s arrest, the Center canceled the FCRA license of his organization SECMOL. The reason for this was stated to be alleged financial disturbances.
