Tilak Verma has played 25 T20 matches from India so far.
India’s young batsman Tilak Verma will captain South Zone in the Dalip Trophy. The tournament’s 2025-26 season will start from August 28 in Bengaluru. A total of 15 players have been included in the team.
The maximum number of 4 players have been selected from Kerala. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Azharuddin, batsman Salman Nizar, and fast bowler MD Nidish and Basil NP.
Devdutt Padikkal and fast bowler Vijayakumar Vaishakh from Karnataka have got a place. Darkal did not play in the last stage of IPL 2025 due to hamstring injury, but is now fully fit.
Devdutt Padikkal has also been selected in the South Zone team.
Sudarshan, Sundar and Krishna have no place
Sai Sudarshan, Washington Sundar and famous Krishna, who are in India’s current Test team, have not been selected in this team. Narayan Jagdishan, who is joining India Test team due to Rishabh Pant’s injury, may be the main wicketkeeper. R Sai Kishore and Gurjapneet Singh from Tamil Nadu have also got a place in the team.

Tanmay Aggarwal of Hyderabad, who scored 934 runs in the last Ranji Trophy, has also been included in the team.
Duleep Trophy will be played in Zone format
This year the Dalip Trophy will again be played in zone -based format. The last time it was played between four teams (A, B, C, D). Now the selection will be done by the zonal selection committee. Former Indian fast bowler L Balaji will be the head coach of this team.
