In Maharashtra, politics is hot with the legacy of Mughal emperors Aurangzeb and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi has written a letter to Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar. He said that the statement on which he was suspended for the budget session was shown incorrectly.
In a letter to the Assembly Speaker, Abu said, “He did not make any statement against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rather, his statement was presented by the media.
What clarification did Abu Azmi give in the letter?
Abu Azmi told that the media had questioned him that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma compared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Aurangzeb. In response to which he responded by giving reference to many historians.

In a letter to the speaker, Abu Azmi said, ‘Based on historians, Aurangzeb was a qualified administrator and he did not struggle with Shivaji for religion. There was a struggle between the two for power and land.
Abu Azmi also said that he believes that during the reign of Aurangzeb, India was border to Afghanistan and Burma (today’s Myanmar). The country was rich at that time, so the British planned to rule here.
Abu said that his statement was completely based on historical facts and said- no great person was insulted. The statement was exaggerated and the media incorrectly quoted him. Put words in the mouth that they never say. This caused damage to his image. Therefore, suspension from the assembly should be canceled.

Minister Chandrakant Patil had proposed to suspend Abu Azmi from the assembly session.
