Srinagar News: The police thwarted an attempt to spread a communal tension late on Monday (23 June 2025) in Balhama area of Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident of installing flags of America and Israel has come to light in the area, which the Srinagar police have described as a planned attempt to incite public spirit.
The Srinagar police found evidence as reliable input and image, according to which some chaotic elements in Balhama tried to dissolve the peace system by putting foreign flags. As soon as the information was received, the police started investigation through technical monitoring, CCTV footage and local verification.
Accused and their identity
The police investigation identified 6-7 suspects, of which the involvement of three has been considered strong after continuous interrogation. This includes Mohsin Ali Dar, son Ali Mohammed, Bilal Ahmed Dar, son Mohammad Yusuf Dar and Aamir Ali Dar, son Manzoor Hussain, residents of Balhama. However, Mohsin and Bilal have been arrested, while Aamir Ali Dar is absconding and his search is on.
Action under law and order
Srinagar police said that this work was done with the aim of inciting public sentiment, spoiling communal harmony and spreading anti -social agenda. In this case, the investigation is being carried forward by registering a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other related laws.

Police said in a statement that we will not tolerate any kind of anti -social activity, communal tension or instability. The culprits of the Balhama incident will be punished strict according to the law. Local citizens and social organizations have appreciated the quick action of the police and appealed to the common people to avoid rumors and maintain peace. At the same time, additional police forces have been deployed in Balhama and surrounding areas after the incident so that no untoward situation arises.
