The five -match Test series between India and England has started from June 20 at the Handingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. In this match, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and invited India to batting first. The Indian team expected a good performance from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also lived up to expectations and completed his century on 144 balls with the help of 16 fours and a six. This was the 5th century of Yashasvi’s Test career. Yashasvi sent the fourth and fifth balls of Bridan cars for fours in the 49th over of the innings. Then he reached the triple points with a single on the last ball.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is the first Indian opener to have played a century in Test cricket on the Handingley Cricket Ground. Also, Yashasvi has also become the fifth Indian batsman who scored a century in his first Test innings in England. Before Yashasvi, Murali Vijay, Vijay Manjrekar, Sourav Ganguly, Sandeep Patil were able to do so.
During this century innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal also had a cramp. In such a situation, the physio put ice-pack on his right hand. Also, Physio also massaged in his left hand. Due to this, the game stopped on two occasions, but he continued batting. Yashasvi had a right -handed cramps in Visakhapattam last year and scored a double century.
