The violence took place after claims in which Muslim organizations alleged that members of some Hindu organizations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, burnt a cloth during a protest, on which religious things were written. This protest was done in Sambhajinagar demanding the removal of the grave of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. The local administration has deployed additional police force to control the situation and security in the area has been tightened.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed for peace regarding the violent clash of Nagpur. He said that citizens should fully cooperate with the administration in this situation. The Chief Minister said that we are constantly in touch with the police administration and citizens should cooperate with them. Devendra Fadnavis has appealed not to believe any rumor and cooperate fully with the administration.

Eyewitnesses said that public property was damaged and vehicles were set on fire when the situation deteriorated. In the video found from the scene, the burning vehicle and debris are scattered in the entire area. The police reached the spot immediately after the clash started to stop the violence and restore the system. Additional workers have been deployed to prevent further unrest.
