The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘cyclonic warning’ to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands due to a cyclonic condition over the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to intensify from September 24. The officials gave this information on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).
He said that due to such weather, heavy rains can occur till 25 September, in such a situation a warning has been issued at local ports. Officials said, “On September 24, a two –50-km speeds may blow up at a speed of 40-50 km in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and thunderstorms may occur.”
Possibility of heavy rains on Andaman Island
An official said, “On September 25 and 26, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall (07–11 cm) at one or two places on the Andaman Islands, one or two places on Andaman and Nicobar Islands may blow strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph and there may be shower with thunderstorms.”
The possibility of bad sea conditions being bad
He said, ‘On September 27 and 28, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and showering with strong winds and lightning at one or two places of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on September 28. There is a possibility of strong wind from 35-45 km per hour to 55 kmph speed on the Andaman Sagar and Andaman and Nicobar coast.
He said, ‘In the coming five days, the position of the sea is expected to be bad and fishermen have been advised not to go to the sea around the Andaman Sea and Andaman and Nicobar coast by 25 September.
